We are recruiting a Business Analyst will support the delivery and improvement of B&M’s Data landscape and technology-enabled business solutions across retail, supply chain, and head office functions. Working closely with stakeholders, data teams and technical teams, you will gather and analyse requirements, translate business needs into clear functional specifications, and support the delivery of scalable, data-driven systems.

You will contribute to technology and change initiatives aligned to B&M’s commercial objectives, ensuring solutions are practical, efficient, and fit for a fast-paced retail environment. This role offers hands-on exposure to a broad range of systems and projects, with a clear progression path into a Senior Business Analyst position as your technical and leadership capabilities develop.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and reviews
  • Evaluate current processes and workflows to identify improvement and optimisation opportunities
  • Develop functional specifications and translate business needs into actionable solutions with technical teams
  • Produce clear documentation including requirements, use cases, user stories, and business cases
  • Manage and engage stakeholders, ensuring clear communication on requirements, progress, and risks
  • Support testing activities, including test planning, UAT, and solution validation
  • Act as a liaison between business and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Drive continuous improvement by recommending scalable and efficient process enhancements
  • Mentor junior business analysts and promote best practices across the team

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 2–4 years’ experience in a Business Analyst role, delivering business solutions and process improvements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience producing process maps, workflows, and business requirements documentation (e.g. Visio, Lucidchart)
  • Familiarity with BA and delivery tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools (e.g. SQL, Excel, Power BI)
  • Proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders across different levels of the organisation
  • Solid business acumen with an understanding of organisational objectives and challenges
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban) would be desirable, along with an understanding of SDLC and project delivery methodologies
