We have an exciting opportunity for a Buying Assistant to join our dynamic and growing Buying team on a temporary 3–6 month contract, based at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool.
From product conception through to launch, you'll provide essential administrative support to the Buying team while developing strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and suppliers. Working alongside experienced Buyers and Merchandisers, this role offers excellent exposure to the end-to-end buying process and a fantastic opportunity to develop your commercial skills.
This role is full-time and office-based, Monday to Friday, at our Support Centre in Speke.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing administrative support to Buyers across the department
- Requesting, checking and processing shipping documentation
- Setting up new products and liaising with suppliers
- Raising and issuing purchase orders
- Requesting, checking and approving carton marks
- Monitoring competitor products, pricing and promotional activity
- Raising retro and funding invoices and liaising with Accounts
- Compiling reports and gathering information to support buying decisions
What You'll Bring:
- Previous Buying Assistant experience would be advantageous but is not essential
- A genuine interest in Buying, Retail and Product Management
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence when dealing with suppliers and colleagues
